Building a streaming + podcast office (1 host / 1 guest)

Looking for gear advice (5–8k budget)

Hi everyone,
I’m finishing the planning phase of a home office designed primarily for streaming and podcasting with 1 seated guest, plus casual gaming in free time. Renders/photos are attached so you can see the layout and vibe.

🧱 Room layout

- Door on the 3.27m side (90cm wide)
- Window centered on the 3.19m wall (1.40m wide)
- Closet wall is excluded from the usable space
- Guest sits on the opposite side of the desk (visible in the renders)
- Under the window: MIDI piano connected to PC
- Guest side needs a TV to read chat or play PS5 / Switch (visible in the renders)

Style goal:
- Warm wood tones, subtle lighting between PVC wall panels and under desks.
- Clean, modern, not flashy RGB.

- Stream Deck
- Samsung Odyssey G5 34”
- Logitech C920 (1080p)

Planned:
24” touchscreen with pen below main monitor (used as a whiteboard, not a pro drawing tablet)

PC case is integrated inside the desk (floating desk, DK-07x style)

Two vertical side monitors mainly for chat, notes, tools, and references
Refresh rate of 75Hz or 100Hz is more than enough
Resolution and color accuracy prioritized over high refresh rates
Main 34” monitor could be slightly elevated using a monitor arm or riser
This would allow placing a soundbar behind the touchscreen or main monitor
A monitor riser could also help with desk organization and visual balance

Video Output Quality:
- 1080p preferred (1440p max, no need for 4K)

Total of 4 cameras planned:
- 1 camera above main monitor (desk / screen streams)
- 1 camera for host
- 1 camera for guest (behind right vertical monitor)
- 1 camera from ceiling to focus where the laptop stand right now in the renders

Open to webcams or mirrorless if budget makes sense.

Max 2 people (host + guest)

Currently owned:
- DJI Mini wireless mics x2
- Blue Yeti

Considering:
- 2 XLR dynamic microphones
- Interface / mixer options: Rodecaster Duo or GoXLR Mini
- Microphones on boom arms preferred

Goal:
Clean podcast audio without overkill.

- Good lighting for recordings
- Easy to mount, not overly complex
- Separate lighting for host and guest preferred
- Air conditioning will be on, heat is not a major concern.
- Usable with Stream Deck or Alexa if not possible with the first.

- Space available for a subwoofer under the desk.
- Optional rear tweeters on the AC wall
- Open to active speakers, 2.1 system, or soundbar
- Soundbar possible if main monitor is raised slightly

Goal:
Movies and casual listening without always using headphones

Main focus on door and window
Acoustic panels planned for closet wall
Goal is acoustic treatment, not full professional soundproofing

Alexa used only for turning devices on/off
Lights, AC, PC, and general devices
No Alexa scenes (handled via Stream Deck)

Initial range: 5–6k USD
Can stretch up to ~8k USD if balanced correctly
No need for professional cinema cameras or ultra-expensive microphones.

I’m mainly looking for people who’ve already built streaming, podcast, or hybrid work setups.

Recommendations, brand mixes, mounting ideas, or even things you would avoid buying are more than welcome.

The goal is a setup that looks clean, sounds good, and works reliably — not a full broadcast studio.

If you’d like to suggest alternatives within the same budget range, I’m open to it.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and help.
